For 50 years, FinPan, Inc. has been bringing innovative building products to the tile industry. FinPan has been at the forefront of manufacturing leading edge products that have changed the way tile installations are performed. With a commitment to quality and sound installation processes, FinPan has proven to offer contractors and homeowners alike, products that are simple to install, save labor and provide years of dependable performance in managing water in wet areas.
FinPan was established in 1975 to mass produce the first concrete backer board on the market, WonderBoard®. Our founder, Theodore Clear, invented and patented the continuous manufacturing process for a board that changed the way tile installations were done. Today, FinPan offers our original Util-A-Crete® and ProTEC™ Concrete Backer Boards along with the PreFormed® line of prefabricated waterproof shower pans, Niches, seats, curb overlays, slopes and more. In fact, FinPan was the first company to introduce the one-piece prefabricated foam Niche back in 1999. FinPan also offers TI-ProBoard® Structrual Ribbed Self-Supporting Boards for tiling decks. TI-ProBoard® attaches directly to deck joists and is recognized in the Tile Council of North America Handbook. One of our newest products, ClearPath® Curbless Shower System, has changed the way contractors can build a zero-entry shower without modifications to the floor system.
FinPan’s 50-year journey as a leading manufacturer in the tile industry is a testament to the legacy of Ted and Mary Lou Clear. Today, FinPan is led by third generation family members Ryan Schaffer and Jason Clear.
